Four years, every iRobot product, one goal: make the first five minutes feel effortless. The Roomba j7 launch forced a full rethink — new hardware, one button, a chance to eliminate the biggest friction point entirely.
The Roomba i7 was the first consumer robot to remember your home. I designed the experience that taught it — and the interface that let owners shape it room by room. Two patents came out of it. So did a lot of hard lessons about maps and human perception.
Facility managers and technicians don't sit at desks. I designed a mobile-first energy platform for the people who manage buildings from the field — validating that mobile wasn't a compromise, it was the right primary surface.
The hardest design problems I've worked on weren't just visual. They were conceptual — a mental model that was subtly wrong, a workflow organized around engineering logic instead of human logic, a product that was technically powerful but humanly opaque.
Close enough to pixels to make good decisions, far enough back to see what the product needs to become. I care about systems that stay clear when things get hard and are built to outlast any single sprint.
